From The Silent Secretary diary, excerpts from March:

March Memos

Among the most historic words ever spoken in the month of March were, “Mr. Watson, come here. I want you.” They were uttered by Alexander Graham Bell on March 10, 1876, and constituted the fist complete message to be transmitted by telephone. Bell had celebrated his 29th birthday only a week before he spoke these words to his assistant in an adjoining room. Whether they realize it or not, tens of millions of person will observe the 80th anniversary of Bell’s invention on March 10th by making use of the telephone.
